right now, i could so do with a drink. its finally friday evening, the sun making his slow descent into the darkness that spills over and mingles with the cold, the evening afire with the glow of the many hundreds of neon lights that make the nightlife of downtown DC every bit as exciting as it is claimed to be.

i could do with a glass of red wine. a good, red wine that hugs every inch of my throat as it slithers down to the pit of my stomach leaving a hot trail of teased and appeased taste buds. lighting a fire in my veins. the heat, it makes me feel light-headed. the heat, it courses through my veins until there is not a single nerve in my body that is not tingling.

hmmm...what shall it be today? aaah, i know. i could do with a shiraz. a spicy, red, shiraz. its spicy notes, spiking my brain signals, vaguely suggestive. of moonlight and rumba. of beautiful people and shimmering bodies. of the sensuously slow shedding of all inhibitions. of every vein throbbing to the seductive beat of the sultry music. of submission. of exultation.

i could….i could….i would love to.
sigh, only i’m here typing this out…wishing…wishing…wishing…
that my boss would just let me go home already!

cute

a few days late but soo cute! a gem from the veritable treasure chest that Caferati is:

Shoot him dead!

He’s fat and old that cupid.
Perfectly rhymes with stupid.
Why else would I be,
In love with so many,
Gorgeous wrong men?

me: "the one in DC?!?!? i was just there this evening. I LOVE YANNI......waaaahhhhh. how come i didnt know?!?! why didn't you guys tell me?!? why didn't ANYBODY tell me?!?!?!"
them: "oh damn! we should have asked you. we had an extra ticket for the best seat and we had to sell it for 40 bucks cheaper coz his dad couldn't go"
me: bawling loudly on the bed
them: looking awfully confused and very very guilty

happy happy valentine's y'all!

i had once been in love, and happy. a couple of disastrous relationships and one spell of unrequited love down the road though, I became downright cynical. a perpetual pessimist who derived immense pleasure from being able to identify with tragic love stories and sad love songs. untill i met you, that is. you made me realize love, in all its forms - shared, requited and not - was an uplifting emotion. not one that made you feel tied down or lost or miserable. you taught me that when i love someone, its my love that matters, not what i get out of it. to find someone i can love is a gift that i should cherish. a blessing. a chance to make peace with myself. sad moments may outnumber the joyful ones. memories can be painful or cheerful. whats important is what i choose to count and indulge in. like how good it felt to run my fingers through your hair. or how adorable it is the way you talk to yourself. or how you think how annoyingly dumb i can be sometimes. yes that too! there's always happiness in this world.

you have no idea how you have touched my life. you make me glad to be alive. and happy!

this valentine's day i dedicate to you, my dear friend. you're special. and you know i'm talking about you don't you? i want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life :-)

and to all you folks out there, have a beautiful valentine's day with your loved and special ones - mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, sisters, brothers, friends, grandmas, grandpas, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, neighbors, lovers and anyone else i've missed!!!
